Jan Fabre The Years of the Hour Blue 1977 - 1992: Busan Museum of Art, Korea

In 2014, the Maurice Verbaet Center contributed to the exhibition The Years of the Hour Blue. Drawings and Sculptures 1977–1992 by Jan Fabre at the Busan Museum of Art in South Korea.

For this presentation, the Center loaned a selection of artworks, supporting an exhibition that focused on the formative years of Fabre’s artistic practice. Bringing together early drawings and sculptures, the exhibition explored the origins of his distinctive visual language, marked by themes of transformation, introspection, and the poetic concept of “the hour blue.”

We are proud to have contributed to this international project, which introduced Fabre’s early work to a broader audience and highlighted the enduring relevance of this pivotal period in his oeuvre.
