Overview
Colour all-over

Colour All-over brought together a selection of works from the Maurice Verbaet Gallery, focusing on the role of colour within Belgian post-war art. The exhibition explored how artists used colour not only as a visual element, but as a structuring principle within their work.

Featuring artists such as Georges Collignon, Panamarenko, Gilbert Swimberghe and Dan Van Severen, the presentation highlighted a wide range of approaches, from geometric abstraction to more experimental practices. Across these works, colour unfolds across the surface, creating rhythm, depth and spatial tension.

By placing these different positions in dialogue, Colour All-over offered a nuanced view of colour as both a formal and expressive language, reflecting the diversity of artistic production in Belgium after 1945.
