Brafa Art Fair
This selection invited visitors to slow down and look closely, revealing artists’ ongoing search for new forms of expression. It reflected a vibrant artistic tradition that continued to resonate today.
For BRAFA 2025, we presented a carefully curated selection highlighting the richness and diversity of 20th-century Belgian art. From early modernist experiments to lyrical abstraction and postwar innovation, the presentation created a dynamic dialogue between generations of artists.
The selection brought together key works by artists such as Pol Bury, René Guiette, Jo Delahaut, Louis Van Lint and Marc Mendelson, revealing how each explored form, color and space in their own distinctive way. Geometric rigor met organic spontaneity, while figuration and abstraction alternated and challenged one another.
Works on paper and sculptures also played an important role within the ensemble, offering a multifaceted view of artistic practices and materials. From the poetic lines of Christian Dotremont to the spatial articulations of Francis Dusépulchre, the presentation unfolded as a journey where experimentation and sensitivity went hand in hand.
