At Art Antwerp 2025, we presented a carefully composed selection of works spanning the 20th century, with a focus on the relationship between drawing, painting and printmaking. The presentation brought together both figurative and abstract practices, reflecting the diversity of postwar Belgian art.
The selection included artists such as Jo Delahaut, René Guiette and Paul Van Hoeydonck, whose works explored structure, material and abstraction, often at the intersection of painting and object. In parallel, figures including Pol Mara, Marc Mendelson and Fred Bervoets introduced a more expressive and figurative dimension, while the presence of numerous works on paper emphasized drawing as a space for experimentation.
A significant focus was placed on the work of Paul Van Hoeydonck, whose presence in the booth functioned as a discreet homage to his oeuvre, as the artist would have reached his centenary that year.
