For Art on Paper 2026, the Maurice Verbaet Collection presented a selection of works on paper dedicated to post-war Belgian art, the central and defining focus of the collection.

Bringing together works by several artists represented within the collection, the presentation highlighted the remarkable diversity of artistic practices that developed in Belgium in the decades following the Second World War. Rather than approaching works on paper as secondary to painting or sculpture, the presentation placed the medium at its centre, emphasizing its importance as a space for experimentation, immediacy and artistic research.
